Body text sample: Cabin is a humanist sans inspired by Edward Johnston's and Eric Gill's typefaces, with a touch of modernism. Cabin incorporates modern proportions, optical adjustments, and some elements of the geometric sans. It remains true to its roots, but has its own personality. The Cabin font family comes in two variable fonts, roman and true italic, with a Weight range from Regular to Bold, and a Width range from normal to Condensed. Cabin has wide language support, including full Latin coverage of Vietnamese, additional to all Western, Central, and South/Eastern European languages.

Inspiration

I have taken inspiration from the nautical setting of the BCi HQ in Gosport, Hampshire. The abstract pattern behind this panel is a subtle nod to the sea, and also to electromagnetic waves.

design choices

Colour Palette Ideas

In choosing a colour palette I've taken inspiration from the marine/naval heritage setting of the BCi HQ, and the BCi logo itself. The palette includes neutral greys plus tints and tones of the BCi Digital logo blue, plus International Orange for a pop of colour and to draw attention to important actions and content. Orange is opposite blue on the colour wheel, so it contrasts well with the branding colour.

International OrangeThis is the proposed highlight colour for BCi. It is a colour used in the aerospace and maritime industry to set objects apart from their surroundings
